Prepared Childbirth Classes

Memorial Health Center's Prepared Childbirth course is taught by labor and delivery nurses. During the class you will learn what to expect during labor and delivery and how you can cope with the stress of labor. We emphasize the importance of breathing and relaxation, teaching you techniques that can be used throughout your life.

Classes will cover topics including, but not limited to: benefits of breastfeeding, techniques, positioning and weaning, as well as:
    •    bathing
    •    massage
    •    skin care
    •    diapering
    •    comforting
    •    and when to call the Doctor for illness

When you have your baby at Memorial Health Center, you are attended by a staff who is knowledgeable and committed to providing you with safe and high quality care. Specially designed birthing rooms are available, each equipped with Jacuzzi tubs. We are proud to support a family-centered approach to your care. After the baby is born there are breastfeeding educators on staff to assist you with your newborn feeding technique.
