MHC Rehabilitaion Achieves 100% Membership in the APTA

To demonstrate its continuing commitment to quality patient care, Memorial Health Center has achieved 100 percent membership in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) among the organization’s physical therapists.

“Attaining 100 percent membership in our professional association helps to meet the standards that the people in our communities expect and deserve,” said Brad Kennedy, PT, Director of MHC Rehabilitation. “We are dedicated to meeting or exceeding our customers’ needs and will do everything we can to assure the best experience possible.”

Each physical therapist member of APTA pledges to abide by the Association’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Ethical Conduct, which holds them to a high standard of practice. Physical therapists are health care professionals who diagnose and treat individuals of all ages, from newborns to elders, who have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. Physical therapists examine each individual and develop a plan of care using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. Physical therapists also work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility by developing fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles.

The MHC Rehabilitation Department provides a wide range of services, including but not limited to, orthopedic problems, sports injuries, back and neck pain, arthritis, wound care, joint replacement recovery, hand rehab, ergonomics, personalized fitness programs, as well as speech therapy and occupational therapy. Services are also available to those who are homebound. For more information about MHC Rehabilitation, please visit www.memorialhealthcenter.org.

APTA is a national organization representing 70,000 physical therapists, physical therapist assistants and students nationwide. Its goal is to foster advancements in physical therapist education, practice and research.
